January is often a time for new resolutions and fresh starts. For turning the page and looking ahead. For many, this can be very motivating. For others, resolutions are challenging and a source of demotivation if not met.
When it comes to health goals I encourage clients to think long-term, and about their lifestyle as a whole. Loosing weight may be one aspect of a goal, but there may be other health drivers which are actually more important to you; more energy, better food choices, stress management, less fatigue, supporting symptoms of specific conditions and so on.
Identifying meaningful goals and working slowly and steadily towards them can be a rewarding process. Our definition of “being healthy” is very individual so it makes sense to explore personal motivating factors. A healthy approach to changing your health.
