Often when people think about ‘Nutrition’ and ‘Diet’ they imagine having to restrict themselves and stopping eating lots of the foods they love. However a ‘balanced diet’ really just means adopting a way of eating which optimises nutrient intake and supports health and wellness. It’s an approach which becomes a way of life rather than a short-term dietary fix and typically involves adding in lots more foods, more variety and more flavours to provide a good intake of nutrients. It’s true, there may be some foods which are reduced (ideally sugary processed foods) but these will invariably be replaced with natural wholefoods which provide as much, if not more, satisfaction.
