I am married to an Italian so it’s no surprise I love cooking and blending our mixed Anglo-Carribbean and Italian cultures onto our plates. Over the years I have embraced growing more home-grown produce with all the benefits that eating seasonal nutrient-dense foods bring,

as well as to reduce exposure to pesticides and chemicals found in industrially grown foods.

I am mum to 2 girls, a keen hiker, cold water swimmer, stand up paddler, and mountaineer.

I follow a Low-Carb Ketogenic-Mediterranean Diet and base my diet around colourful, variety-rich whole food ingredients, using many of the nutritional recommendations that I personalise to clients.

My Story

My story starts with losing my father to cancer 20 years ago. As devastating as this was it has guided many of my life choices since then, and driven my passion to help other people living with cancer using the Metabolic Terrain Approach, nutrition and lifestyle medicine.

I’ve lived in Italy for over 18 years with my family (my husband and two beautiful daughters) but am originally from the UK. It was a classic story of girl meets an Italian boy and follows him back home. Now it’s where I call home and I am so lucky to live in such a beautiful country, surrounded by lakes and mountains, and to enjoy all the amazing food Italy has to offer. It was my love of food that led me to retrain as a Nutritionist back in 2014 after two decades of working in the food industry – the best decision I ever made! I have been practising ever since, combining my training with lived experience of the Mediterranean diet and life in a Blue Zone.

After a breast cancer scare in 2020, and a series of panic attacks which I attribute to the distress of not seeing my family in the UK for nearly 2 years during the pandemic, I dove into the Metabolic Approach to Cancer determined to find answers for myself. Despite my nutrition work and previous integrative cancer training, I knew I was missing something. There had to be more. I had read Dr Nasha Winters book a few years earlier but training as an advocate took me into a whole new terrain! I found the answers I’d been hoping for. Now I can help you put the pieces of the puzzle together to support your health and wellness.

My goals are to live life with passion, purpose and positivity and help others do the same. We are surrounded by so much stimulus and it can be overwhelming. Lessons from living in a Blue Zone have taught me to slow down and savour life, connect and grow with others, make time for movement, prioritise sleep and wellbeing, and of course eat delicious healthy foods. These are the same principles I share with my clients to help them find their path back to wellness.

Since moving to Italy I have grown to love the mountains and am lucky enough to spend time trekking and skiing in the dolomites. I live just 20 minutes from Lake Como where you can find me wild swimming and paddle boarding all year round – enjoying cold plunges in the winter and relaxing in the summer months.

I shop in local markets and cascina’s (local farms) for seasonal produce, organic meat, fish, eggs, dairy and cheese. I’ve learnt to cook with the same love that Italians pour into their food – making everything from scratch – seasoning with fresh herbs and spices – balancing my meals – eating in moderation.

Best of all, I love spending time with my family. We are a sporty family and between us enjoy everything from trekking, skiing, surfing, wakeboarding, athletics, tennis, dance and yoga. My husband is a certified yoga instructor – something he did for himself to balance the stress of his busy job – and that I get to benefit from with one-to-one yoga sessions. We love to travel and visit far flung countries with some of our favourites including Bhutan, Tibet, Guatemala and Sri Lanka, and of course exploring closer to home in Europe.

I would love to work with you on your metabolic health and cancer journey.
